General Questions About Our Cleaning Company

What cleaning services do you offer?

Keepin' It Clean provides residential cleaning, recurring maintenance cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/move-out cleaning, commercial cleaning, and specialty cleaning services. Contact our office to discuss your specific cleaning needs and receive a customized estimate.

What areas in Michigan do you serve?

We proudly serve Jackson, Brooklyn, Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Grass Lake, and Spring Arbor. Our standard service footprint covers a 37-minute radius from our main office located at 506 W. Michigan Ave., as well as a 20-minute surrounding radius from Chelsea.

Are your cleaning professionals insured?

Yes. We are fully insured and committed to providing professional, trustworthy service in every home and business we clean.

Scheduling & Cleaning Appointments

Do I need to be home during my cleaning service?

No. Many of our clients provide access to their homes while they are away. We simply ask that access arrangements be confirmed before your scheduled service.

What time will my cleaning technician arrive?

Arrival times are approximate. We ask clients to allow a 30-minute window before and after their scheduled arrival time due to traffic, weather, and other scheduling factors.

Can I request morning or afternoon appointments?

Yes. We offer a.m. and p.m. scheduling preferences to fit your day:

A.M. Window: 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

P.M. Window: 11:50 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

While we do our best to honor preferences, exact times cannot be guaranteed.

What is your cancellation policy if I need to skip a cleaning?

Please notify our office at least two business days before your scheduled service.

Two business days or more notice: No fee

One business day notice: 50% service fee

Same-day cancellation: 100% service fee

All skips should be submitted through our Client Skip Form.

Home Access & Security

What happens if the Technician(s) cannot get into my home?

If we are unable to access your home at the scheduled appointment time, a service fee may apply. Our team will attempt to contact you three times during a 15-minute access window. If access cannot be obtained, a 100% service fee will be assessed.

How can I safely provide access if I'm not home?

Many clients use door codes, lockboxes, garage codes, or hidden keys. Our office will discuss the safest option with you when scheduling service.

Our Cleaning Services & Safety Guidelines

Do I need to clean my house before my appointment?

No. That's our job! However, we do ask that clutter, toys, clothing, paperwork, and personal items be picked up before our arrival so our technicians can focus on detailed cleaning rather than organizing.

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies and equipment?

Yes. Our technicians arrive with the professional-grade cleaning supplies and equipment needed to complete your service.

What types of cleaning products do you use?

We use professional cleaning products, including eco-friendly options and hospital-grade disinfectants when appropriate.

Do you clean up pet accidents?

Pet accident cleanup is not included in our standard cleaning services. Please contact our office if you need this service so we can discuss options and pricing.

Do your Technician(s) move heavy furniture?

For technician safety, we do not move furniture. We will clean visible and accessible areas around furnishings.

Do technicians climb ladders to dust?

No. For safety reasons, technicians do not climb higher than a three-step ladder. High dusting is completed using extension dusters whenever possible.

Pet Policies During Cleaning

Can my pets stay home during the house cleaning?

Absolutely. We love pets! However, we ask that any pet that may become anxious, stressed, aggressive, or difficult to manage be secured during the cleaning.

Will technicians let my pets outside?

No. For the safety of your pets, we do not allow pets outside unless prior authorization and a signed waiver are on file.

Quality, Satisfaction, & Damage Policies

What if I am not satisfied with my cleaning service?

We stand behind our work with our KIC 100% Guarantee. If you notice an area that was missed or not cleaned to your expectations, please contact us within 24 hours and we will work with you to resolve the issue.

How do you ensure high-quality cleaning standards?

We rely on client communication and feedback as part of our quality control process. We welcome both compliments and concerns and use that feedback to continually improve our service.

What happens if something is broken during my cleaning?

While accidents are rare, we understand they can happen. Please notify us as soon as possible and within 24 hours of discovery. Each incident is reviewed individually. We may repair or replace damaged items when appropriate. Documentation of value may be required for higher-value items.

How can I help prevent accidental damage?

Please secure fragile, valuable, unstable, or irreplaceable items before your scheduled cleaning. We recommend placing them in an area that will not be cleaned.

Billing, Payments, & Deposits

When is my payment due?

Payment is due at the time service is completed.

Do I need to keep a credit card on file?

Yes. All residential clients are required to maintain a valid debit or credit card on file before service can be scheduled.

What happens if my payment method declines?

You will receive an automated notification requesting updated payment information. If a valid payment method is not provided within five days, future services may be paused until the account is brought current.

Is a deposit required for initial cleanings?

Yes. Initial residential cleanings require a 50% deposit at the time of booking.

Referrals, Gift Cards, & Community Impact

Do you offer a client referral program?

Yes! Receive a $100 referral reward when someone you refer becomes a recurring weekly or biweekly cleaning client. Terms and conditions apply.

Do you sell cleaning service gift cards?

Absolutely. Cleaning services make a wonderful gift for weddings, new parents, anniversaries, housewarmings, birthdays, and holidays. Contact our office to purchase a gift card.

Do you offer free cleaning services for charity?

Yes. Keepin' It Clean proudly partners with Cleaning For A Reason, a nonprofit organization that provides free house cleaning services to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. Visit cleaningforareason.org for eligibility information and application details.

Tipping Policies

Should I tip my professional cleaning technician?

Tipping is never expected but is always appreciated. If you choose to leave a tip, 100% of the gratuity goes directly to your technician.
